We
build
smarter.

Our Purpose

It’s always been in our character. Because for us, smarter stands for so much more than creating innovative new ways to build. It’s about keeping our ear to the ground. Listening to our clients. Answering their needs with smarter solutions. And incorporating their needs and tastes into every decision we make. Smarter is a consistent dedication to quality. It’s about making a big difference through the smallest details. Always seeking new ways to improve and grow. And never saying impossible. It’s how we as a company, a collective of creative thinkers and intelligent builders got to where we are today. Building communities. Reinventing neighbourhoods by unlocking the full potential of our employees, our partners, and our projects. Improving the world we live in, one project at a time.

ESG

Environment, Social and Governance

Our commitment to the environment

We build smarter is about building for the next generation.

Doing our part for the planet through sustainable, affordable homes and communities—while responsibly winding down our dependency on fossil fuels. We’re already ahead of the energy-reduction curve with high-performance building techniques such as robust insulation, top-quality windows, and air exchange recuperation systems. Many of our projects include geothermal, high efficiency boilers and heat recovery systems.

Our three core principles

Our three fundamental principles at Scalia: Honesty, transparency, and respect.

Honesty by following through on our commitments—this includes delivering on schedule and staying on budget. Transparency by promoting accountability, taking responsibility for all of our actions, and making all of our processes clear. And respect in our daily interactions within our company, and with our clients and suppliers. These principles guide us every step of the way, helping us grow as a company. And continue to play an active role in the communities we work and live in.
Social engagement

How a society treats its most vulnerable is always a measure of its humanity."

We take this to heart at Scalia, and since 2011 we have supported numerous social initiatives within the community. Donating almost $3 million to date (2025) –to the Multicaf Community Foodbank in Côte-des-Neiges. And we didn’t stop there. With increasing needs since the COVID-19 crisis, started in 2023 we also organized an annual fundraiser in collaboration with celebrity comedians—as well as local renowned local artists led by Carmelo Blandino.

Multicaf

Giving back to the community

We’re all at our best when we come together for the whole community. Since 2011, Scalia has been supporting the MultiCaf Community Cafeteria in Côte des Neiges/Snowdon. With a mission to provide food aid, create social ties, and seek out resources  for low-income people, MultiCaf is a crucial support service—instrumental in giving back to those who need it most.
